Inspiration is literally the act of breathing into.  It indicates that there is a source of fresh breath and renewed energy and life of mind, emotion and the will.  The scripture calls it "Theopneustos" which means Divinely breathed in or the in breathing of the Divine.  It signifies that one's mind and creative powers are cascaded with new and fresh life to think and to receive the knowledge that flows from the Divine Creator.
