The term wellness is used quite frequently in today's age of health and the pursuit of life. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of Life Coaches, Business Coaches as well as Personal Trainers. Each have their own jargon and with the passing of time new terms and definition are developed to meet the ever expanding trends and demand for coaches. It is very clear that individuals desire to excel and to experience life on an entirely different level. But what is wellness and how does one acquire it and maintain it? Is it possible for one to have a degree of wellness in one area of their life and be broken in other areas. This is the topic of this blog today.
People are much more conscious of their health than ever before. There is a great amount of time spent at gyms, workout facilities and in various parks. Whole food grocery stores are much more available with a wide selection of super foods and healthier foods than in times past but what is true well being and wholeness? Wholeness, from the perspective of human health is defined is defined as:
1. Being uninjured or unharmed
2. Sound in every aspect of ones person
3. Not broken or damaged
4. Not impaired but intact
It is possible to be whole physically and fractured and broken emotionally and mentally. The world we live in is extremely competitive, filled with stress and ever changing. In this ever changing and progressive world things are changing faster than we can manage them. Before our technology is outdated there is new technology that excels any expectation that we could ever expect from our old technology. The truth of the matter is that our bodies are becoming healthier because of the consciousness of physical science and new breakthroughs in exercises and nutrition. In many cases it is the fragile emotions and minds of individuals that are taking a pounding. Individuals are stressed to the point of breaking.
Wholeness is more than being physically sound and strong. It is possible to cause the deterioration of the one's health because of mental stress and emotional turmoil. Wholeness is being unbroken but it is also being resolved of those things that are the source of our broken state. One can be whole but not well in their wholeness. This is why an individual can seem to be successful one moment and suddenly (at least it seems sudden to us) that they are in crisis. One can definitely be whole but not well in their wholeness. One can be at peace, organized and productive but so stressed that they have reached a point of breaking.
Wellness is the quality or state of being healthy in body and in mind according to most life coaches and yet man kind is not just body and mind. We believe (Life Principles Staff) that wellness is being balanced in every aspect of ones nature and being. Wellness is being healthy in body, soul and spirit because one has deliberately made the effort to build themselves up to become healthy in every aspect of life. When there is a sense of wellness one is adjusted in every aspect of life. Wellness is a balanced life that is enjoyed and lived consistently.
It is our sense of wellness that keeps us whole. Wholeness can be broken without wellness. It is important to realize I can be made whole only to become broken again. People try to move on with their lives, their businesses in many cases not knowing I can be healed but not well. Coming out of a bad situation does not mean that you are well. There are many lingering effects that may yet be unresolved. Wellness is having resolve and moving forward in life. This is what Life Principles is all about. to be truly successful and whole one must maintain their wellness. Wellness of body, wellness of soul and wellness of the spirit is what Pneumatic Counseling and Life principles are about. Each of our components of who we are impact the other. An unhealthy body can effect the mind and unhealthy thoughts can influence and impact the mind. An unhealthy spirit can disrupt both physical and mental health. Wellness is being balanced and maintaining that balance as much as is possible.
