Every now and then a student is chosen to be the caretaker of a special knowledge or skill.  This is no different in the church.  It is important to understand that knowledge deposited in one individual makes them the special target of the powers of darkness.  Their goal is to destroy knowledge and wisdom in the church to keep the church from excelling in the things of God.  The "Excerptus" are not the same as Legastic Principle Sons or Daughters who will inherit the Legacy of the church.  These Episcoporum Studens Excerptus  are students who have proven themselves to be hard workers and of an inquisitive mind who have made their pursuit of life the apprehending of Christ and the things of God.  These are students who are to be archivers and protectors of the specific knowledge over a certain topic or subject.  They represent vessels who may continue to carry the knowledge of a ministry if something should happen to the Bishop as well as those other groups of special students (Literati; Warriors of the 3) They are direct understudies of a Bishop depending on their fidelity and preparedness to learn and give themselves over to the ministry of the Word of God.  They can be seen as the wise counselors of the clan or church.
