When the mind is fixed it will be affected by the ravages of live and those pressures that come as a result of living in life.
One of the greatest abilities is to be adaptable. It is probably one of the greatest mental and emotional skills that one can develop. Adaptability is the power to adjust to new and and different conditions or situations. Adaptability enables an individual to adjust to different scenarios or situations that arise. In a world that is ever changing situations are almost always going to change at any minute. Being stuck in the mode of always needing a predictable outcome is a good goal but in truth can very seldom be a realistic scenario to hope for.
Our best plans and organization skills can not prepare us for the great X factor in life. This X factor is the unknown that can occur at any time. Being adaptable is to have the mental and emotional flexibility to take whatever comes and make it suitable for ones own means or use. An individual that is adaptable can adjust and modify any thing that comes and make the best out of a bad situation. The times in which we live are generally hard to navigate through by those who have been living the longest because those individuals have experienced times when it was possible to operate in a set modality of life because life was much simpler.
Life and society have changed into a very complex process. With all of the various choices, access to knowledge and technology the processes that make up life are continually shifting. Sometimes overnight a new trend or process is introduced that the common individual can find it very difficult to keep up with all of the changes that occur. I find that younger individuals have taken the mind set of no plan B while older individuals still plan for contingencies. The differences in the mind sets are that the younger individual has come to believe that success is a possibility and it will happen. The dominant culture has pressed upon them that they are a winner if they so desire to be so. This is the reason they see any deviation as a momentary set back.
It is the ability to adapt and yet not lose sight of the goal that makes the millennial very unique. If they can develop a vision it is hard to move them off course from obtaining their vision. It is this adaptable and yet unwavering mindset that keeps them filled with synergy and passion for their goals. The power of adaptability will give one the outlook of "One door close, just find the door that is open." I have found that in spite of the many setbacks that can occur, one must never forget what their original goals were. The mind must be trained to feel but to over-ride what is felt and continue to pursue all. The goal is to conquer our fears, over-ride the feelings of doubt and gloom and make a definite choice to pursue and recover all. After all you are the determiner of what you will consider and what you will pursue. Through your will you can continue until you succeed.
