When asked why I do the type of music that I do I respond by saying, "Every person has to abide in the measure of the gift that is given to them." I am thankful that I can enjoy music and play and construct the unique pieces that come to me.

I was once asked why don't you write other types of music or do some traditional Gospel music.  My answer was I would love to write and do several Gospel projects and in time I will if the good Lord allows me to.  I actually do all my music impromptu or through improvisation. I generally will sit down at the key board and just meditate on the sounds after a hard day  at the office and after spending time with the wife and children.  Music is a soothing force to me that allows me to relax and think.  Often times while writing I receive new ideals for the next book or seminar that I will teach.  When I am relaxed and of course thinking of God for talents, skills etc.  I will just play and let the theme evolve.  Each song begins with the first note and the note begins to distill and ultimately there flows a song.

​I remember watching a program about jazz musicians and entertainers in general. I forget who the elderly musician was but he was asked by a younger entertainer, "what type of music do you endeavor to write?"  The elderly gentleman lifted up his head and simply said, "I never write music to please people, I write music that I love."  It dawned on me then that if the music you write is not what is dear to you it will not have the infusion of your heart, life or spirit.  The music that flows out of the spirit, heart and soul is that which will be those timeless songs that live forever.



Music is a healing force that can be used to soothe and inspire just as it can seduce and draw the listener away down a path of self destruction.  Music is an art that comes in many varieties, tones and timbre.  It is the spirit of the composer that determines the force and effect that the music will have on the listener.  Music is infused with life, love and vision.  My goal is to enjoy the music and share my gift with those who are seeking for something quiet, refreshing and soothing to the soul.​
