Lion Legacy Records

Lion Legacy Records is now a reality and being organized as this article is being loaded. Lion Legacy Productions has developed its first label and is now working to procure an intensive strategy to begin releasing its catalog of musical projects.

The label features at present D. Reeves and 3 by 3. D. Reeves is the founder and Chairman/President and active CEO of the company and has presently completed over 100 CD projects. He is both writer/composer and the producer of his projects. D. Reeves is a pianist who has played the ViolinCello (The upright bass) as well as the Violin and the Baritone Horn. He began compiling his projects about 3 years ago. Although he has played throughout his life and performed in minor groups he has never continued with any groups because his work ethic and drive, quite frankly, was unbearable at times to those who worked with him. D. Reeves has written a few Gospel songs and composed the lyrics but has never produced a full Gospel CD (something he desparately desires to do) Because of his responsibility as a Bishop, a college professor and president of 2 Institutes of higher learning among other responsibilites he was able to began producing his music (while being a successful husband, father and grandfather).

D. Reeves is a lover of music and possesses a very ecclectic style that incorporates a number of generes that he simply calls Jazzical/Clazzical ( A fussion of classical, jazz and gospel). He originally developed music for his listening pleasure as he worked on his publications (He is the author of over 100 books and many articles) for his company's publication division called Lion Legacy Books. The music began to flow and the results is now over 135 CD Projects that include: Asian Flavor, Classical & Jazzical/Clazzical. He has even began writing for his online book projects and novels. Part of the catalog of music includes about 6 or 7 projects by 3 by 3. 3 by 3 began as an ideal for a group that included 3 musicians of which Dr. Reeves is one. The goal or as the name implied each musician would each write 3 songs that featured 3 instruments (Piano, Bass and Acoustic Guitar) the featured instrument would be written by each member and the others would accompany. The 3 would also complete the project by collaborating on 3 songs together and the final song would come from either member of the trio (thus the name 3 by 3).

Although the trio never officially formed they occasionally continue to work toward the effort but the original concept became a reality when D. Reeves began writing from a 3 by 3 perspective. The results were nothing less than amazing. Both D. Reeves and the 3 by 3 projects utilize clasical jazz rhythmic structures with classical instruments and a fusion of modern and ancient instruments for a smooth and relaxing quiet thematical music that speaks to life from every point of view. D. Reeves in his editorials features selective songs and reveals the theme and inspiration for his music.

Lion Legacy Productions & Lion Legacy Records, although a brand new company and label by industry standards is an awesome musical machine preparing to establish itself by its performance and not mere hype.
