About The Music
I recently completed a song from a new project that is slated to be released sometime in 2019 or 2020. The project is entitled "Exclusively Piano" and features some tracks that are exclusively piano solos or minimal other instruments. There are some songs on the project that are more contemporary and may be considered to be Quiet Storm or Smooth Jazz. I can only speak for myself and my methodology of composing and writing. In the beginning before I start laying down the tracks I consider a pressing thought or concept that I have been either researching for a class that I teach or a book that I am writing, and I reflect on the idealism or principles and begin to think of what this might sound like in music form.
The song "Pasioverse" is a very important song to me in that it represents the notion that "Out of 2 Comes The One". It speaks to the nature of life and how out of the union and harmony of a man and a woman a new life is created. It also speaks of the geriatric forms of musical construction when 2 instruments are generally being used to play 2 separate songs or compositions at the same time. Although there are 2 instruments each existing within their own dimensions of rhythm, key signature and time signature there will exist 3 actual spheres of music. These spheres will consist of the first instrument and the expression of song played by the musician, the second instrument and the expression of song played by the musician and finally the third expression which is the song that both instruments contribute to.
There is a concept that speaks of a Pasioverse which considers that the whole ontological existence is composed of a "First and Ultimate Verse" where all other things came from. This verse or sphere of reality gave birth to the immaterial reality which in turn gave way to the material universe. This is the consideration from which the inspiration for the song Pasioverse came. The term literally means the All Verse or the Verse of All Existence. It represents cause and effect and a continual expansion and extending of some that is set into motion.
