Music in and of itself is not only soothing but it is mathematical in nature and the indulging in it specifically playing an instrument as well as composing has some remarkable results. The nature of music is such that it incorporates:
1. Rhythm
2. Tones
3. Time
4. Textured Sound
5. Emotional Content
With all of these specific things that emanate from music it is no wonder that it can impact the mind either negatively or positively. Medical Doctors and Psychologists have found that seniors who take up playing an instrument in their latter years begin to cause their brain cells to become healthier and they also become much calmer and have a tendancy to use their brains in a greater capacity.
Similar research reveals that certain types of music expand the brains ability to accommodate the mind. This occurs when the music which is highly mathematical and logical in nature causes the brain to respond to the various complexities of sound, rhythm and even the color or tones of the music. These sounds will induce the right effects on the brain to cause a calm and an easier access to the learning portions of the brain.
There is a direct correlation to music and the calmness of the mind as well as the ability to think with a greater clarity of thought and logical context of thought. I have a tendency to use more acoustic instruments because they have a lighter more natural sound. They invoke a mental peace and calm within the psyche. My music is therapy and a tool for expanding my own thought capacity while doing research and preparing lectures or as I am writing working on my next novel or textbook. The natrual sound is my preference although I may use other instruments from time to time if they fit within the theme that I working in but primarily I love the sound of the acoustic instrument. It seems as the instrument and the muscian become one to unleash some amazing effects.
Thank you for Stopping by!
