One of my newest projects that will be released from my own label is entitled: "Jazzical Innovations". The project is rich with acoustic instruments that provide a sound that is alive and yet natural. Music is one of the most universal languages in existence. It conforms to those messages that touch the soul and mind. It is both soothing and intellectually invigorating because of its mathematical principles and yet it is a medicine that promotes relaxation and creativity.
As One of my latest CD projects "Jazzical Innovations" was written to progressively peel back the layers on the jazzical side of my music. The jazzical side is a rich mixture of gospel, r&b, classical and jazz with this conglomeration of themes interwoven into more of a jazzy style that is classical and soothing. Jazzical music as a style of music can embrace many genres because it is many genres all wrapped into one medium. In many cases the twin of Jazzical (Classical) will interweave and criss/cross into the lanes of one another.
This project, for me was an attempt to advance my skill and playing style. Although jazz and classical are every evolving and so comprehensive they really cannot be defined or remain stationary. They are always evolving taking on a life all of their own. This is what this project represents to me. Because I have had no formal training in theory, piano or jazz it represents my growth (or at least my desire to grow). In just about all cases I try not to have my music overly mixed. There is something about live music that brings out the purity of the music. That is what I have done with Jazzical Inovations. Unless the integrity of the music is at stake I try to allow my subscribers and supporters hear the humanity in the music. Each not, each scale and stanza are communicating some type of feeling or thoughts that have been experienced through my perceptions of my own life or of someone else.
I love music and have a deep appreciation of those who love music as well. I thank you all for supporting me and listening to my humble attempt of bringing out the music that is within the reservoirs of my hearts. I will be releasing my projects very soon. I am both excited and a little nervous. I never intended to release my music but merely produced it for my own listening and meditation while conducting my research and studies as a professor. Thank you all again.
