The Power Of Pornography
One of the most addictive and powerful vices in existence is pornography. But what exactly is it and why is it so important. This article is based upon an upcoming book that I am about to release by the same title. It is written from a practical but academic point of view to equip the modern day believer with information that may just save the believer from ruining their lives and opening themselves up to one of the most powerful strongholds in existence.
The term that is used for pornography in scripture is the word fornication. Fornication at its most basic level is defined as consensual sexual intercourse between two people who are not married or two persons who are not married to one another. This term traditionally referred to the act of visiting or consorting with prostitutes in a brothel. The term has now come to refer to all sexual activity outside of marriage or with one who is not the marital spouse of another.
The Biblical term used is the word "Porneia", which is defined as:
1. Any sexual activity that misses the mark of God for its original intention and purpose.
2. Adultery
3. Incest
4. Bestiality
5. Voyeurism (Includes Pornographic Materials for stimulation)
6. Stimulation and foreplay with another that is not one's mate that leads to sexual intercourse.
7. Spiritual Adultery
8. Oral Sex
9. Self Love that causes sexual pleasure through personal manipulation etc.
The sexuality of mankind was given by God to be used within its appropriate modality. All other sexual behavior outside of the principles by which God gave them will ultimately lead to some type of dysfunctional behaviors and sexual patterns that become habit forming and synergistic. Pornography is the means by which the human systems that are responsible for sexuality, sexual perception and sexual behavior are formed, solidified and activated.
Pornography does several things to those who are caught up in its throngs:
1. Produces mental and sexual patterns that are unrealistic to be considered to be the norm thus producing misguided expectations.
2. Provides men and women with patterns that are constructed that are potentially harmful and ungodly.
3. Produce metaphysical atmospheres and states that become pneumatic gateways for transference, oppression and possession.
4. Stimulates and makes provisions for the erotic impulses of the flesh (Sarx)
5. Begins to shape the brain by way of Neuroplasticity causing this behavior to become more accessible and probable.
6. Stores sexual patterns within the subconscious mind that continually activate desire for sexual stimulation and sexual pleasure.
7. Activates the neural networks that overwork the center for sexual pleasure of both the somatic and nephesiological being within man.
8. Activates and stimulates the nephesiological centers of Epithumic (Lust) which in turn causes desire to seek for and construct new behaviors that will satisfy those neurological impulses.
Because human sexuality is a part of the Tselemic/Demuwthian Pattern's of mans nature it is fully integrated into the trichotomic nature of man. Because this nature through the fall of Adam has also become dysfunctional and antithetical to the original nature it has become sarkikosial and now opposes spiritual regeneration and qualities. Pornographic content can be lodged within the substratum of the mind and become embedded within those centers of unconscious thought. Because these patterns are in alignment of the old nature they will quickly become assimilated into every aspect of the physiological wherein the old patterns of the old Adamic nature continues to thrive and operate. Only by a Nepheshiological Flush can one begin to dislodge those images and patterns that have been constructed at a the subconscious and unconscious levels. This can be a difficult task depending upon how great of a pneumatic influence exists within the mind.
