The Nature of R.M.E.G.
R.M.E.G. Institutes of Higher Learning
The Reeverian Institutes of Higher Learning is unique in that its concentrations and curriculum is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the Apostolic, Pentecostal Church. The school has been operating for some time now and is becoming a force to be reckoned with. As Founder of R.M.E.G. I have been leading the school in a positive direction while developing the next generation of leaders and educators to continue on with their development and growth.
R.M.E.G. seeks to instruct from an exegetical, expositional method in such a manner that the scriptures will take precedent over all other materials. Although books and other materials are utilized one of the goals of R.M.E.G. is to point our students back to the Bible. For several years there has been a very dire need to focus on scriptures as the fundamental truths of the Christian Faith. Biblical Illiteracy has been a very serious problem in existing churches and in ministry. People have left those basic tenets of studying the Word of God and standing on the scriptures for daily inspiration and as a code of behavior. The church is in a time period when the world is becoming ever-increasingly anti-Christian. There is not just a mentality of denying the existence of God as atheists did in times past there are now those who proclaim to be anti-theists. It does not matter in this age if God is existent or not. Many who are anti-theists simply proclaim that God, whether He exists or not is not relevant to their lives or desired to be a part of their lives.
Much knowledge in just about every field of study has expanded and breakthroughs have been made in many areas. Sadly, because there are few who desire to champion the cause of truth and defend the Word of God Apostolic Theology has suffered a great blow. Pentecostals and Apostolic alike have been written off as being substandard and unintelligent. Or as some would say, "unsophisticated" as far as biblical doctrine and theology is concerned. I firmly believe that there is a move to radically change the religious arena in the world. The first step in doing this is to control the education and the philosophies of those schools that educate the believer. While ensuring that schools have been developed in an appropriate manner is the proper thing to do there must be an understanding that the separation between church and state as well as the multiplicity of religious views make it extremely difficult to establish and mandate what should be taught in colleges and seminaries. The government is not equipped to structure such systems that will meet the needs for all denominations or religious groups. Church leaders have not come to the table wherein they can agree on the doctrinal truths and those biblical teachings that are considered to be a part of the Christian Doctrine. Because the church has not governed herself accordingly she is now at the mercy of those who really do not understand this great God-ordained institution.
Most Apostolic Chuches and many Pentecostals have suffered in their development for economic and social reasons. Typically many churches of these persuasions have poor congregants or members who have limited income. Much of the church budget is, for the most part, used in keeping the building operating while a great deal of it is used to help the members make ends meet. Many of the smaller churches have those members who are as faithful as they can be and yet due to a lack of education and social skills the church suffers in many ways. This in and of itself has created a mentality in those communities that are served by such churches that produces an apathy and passion to be wealthy. This in many instances becomes the primary focus of the people who have suffered and struggled for years to make ends meet and the latter result is a church that tries to meet the needs of its struggling congregants while many forsake the way of Christianity to fulfill the path that is more lucrative.
It is knowledge that the Apostolic Church needs. Knowledge that will build a new level of faith and endurance to believe for a change in our neighborhoods and the knowledge that can be used to re-calibrate the minds and values of our congregants. This same knowledge must be used to reach the next generation of pastors who have been misinformed and misled concerning the purpose and proper manner in which to function in ministry. These are the challenges that R.M.E.G. faces and is willing to continue facing. Our goal is to strengthen the church and the Apostolic Ministry one heart at a time, one person at a time and one minister at a time. With the help of the Lord this is what we will do.
